St Francis of Assisi Parish - Youth Ministry
FOCUS Mission Statement:
The St Francis of Assisi Youth Ministry, FOCUS, aims to foster guidance, companionship and knowledge of the Catholic faith to the youth of our parish community. FOCUS is dedicated in molding young Catholic servants eager to serve the parish and the community by spreading the Gospel message, sharing our Catholic faith and the teachings of St. Francis. Through our example we hope to encourage the youth of our parish to develop a life of prayer, charity and active participation in the parish.
Our Goal:
FOCUS will meet every month to plan a service activity for the parish and for the community as well as carry out spiritual and social activities for the youth group members
How do we achieve these goals:
Within FOCUS ministry there are 2 parts: Activities(events both spiritual and social), Service and Fundraising. Each event planned will have 2-3 teens on each committee as well as 1-2 young adults overseeing the event.
Through providing service to the parish and community, FOCUS:
exposes itself to the parish community
demonstrates a willingness to provide service
strengthens and develops as a group
become a model for other youth to follow
